The Older Version Of Cisco Anyconnect Cannot Be Removed

I am experiencing an issue when attempting to upgrade users to 4.9.05042 via SCCM. My coworker created a standard MSI deployment but it keeps failing on certain machines. After some research, I determined that it is failing to remove the old registry keys. The old version will partially uninstall but the new version will not install due to this. The usual advice on this forum and elsewhere seems to be to re-run the install/remove program for the last version of the program. If you have it, try it - it might work. But if you don't have it, or that effort fails, or you just want to go straight to the problem, try the following.
